I love this statement:
Being alone is very addictive. Once you start loving your own presence, you stop chasing people in your life.
It is true. Being alone is indeed addictive. You do not need anybody else to validate your life activities. You choose where you want to go, what you want to eat, who you want to meet etc.
You do not have to be an introvert to enjoy being alone. You just have to be confident in yourself and not afraid of what will other people think about you. Believe me, people do not really care unless you are injured or in pain and really need their help.
No man is an island. Yup, I agree with this statement. But by being alone, you will improve your understanding of people around you. You will be able to differentiate genuine and fake relationships. You will know who to find when you need help. You will ultimately realise this:
People only care about their closest family and friends.
Also, they care for people they can benefit from.
Think about this: Why some people are suffering in another side of the world, while some are enjoying themselves like there is no tomorrow?
Because they do not care about others at all. They just think about their own life.
So, why do you care so much about others?
Because you are not like them. You realise this when you sit all alone, wondering about your purpose in this life.
Do not be afraid of being alone. Rather, be afraid of having fake companies around you.
I'm enjoying my alone time while writing this, with scrumptious rojak and cendol.
Peace!
