Let's talk about learning and sharing. Once, my former boss gave me an illustration on how a person who does not have a high level of formal education but is willing to learn more will have a fair chance of moving up to a better position in his/her work, compared to another person who is highly qualified but is too comfortable in his/her current position.
The key to achieving good things in our life is the willingness to learn. The willingness to be humble of what we have already achieved. The willingness to accept the fact that we do not know about everything in this world. Different people knows different stuff. If we are willing to learn and also share our knowledge to others, imagine how far we can move towards a better person, group, organisation or even country.
We do not own this world no matter how genius we are. Hence whatever knowledge that we have is actually coming from the owner of this world. The creator. The most knowledgeable of all. Thus, be humble and always appreciate other people's inputs. Do not quickly jump into conclusion. Think before we talk. Ask before we conclude. It's always wise to look at both pros and cons, before deciding.
What if the people we ask is not happy, or are defensive of their opinion? Stick to the main objective. Explain why we ask. Let go of all emotions when answering or replying. The main objective is to find solution, not to find fault or to show-off that we are better.
Do not be afraid to make mistake when trying. The worst thing that will happen is people will be mad at us but trust me, it should not last long. Keep trying, keep asking around for ideas or opinions. But better if we can do some own research first, so that we can have a basic understanding of the matters and will be able to lead the discussion in a focused manner.
Traditional 5 questions to ask when we do things:
1) What?
2) Who?
3) When?
4) Why?
5) How?
Try them out. You'll be surprised at how you understand about things. Never limit yourself to certain context. Knowledge is borderless.
Good luck!
